Nintendo and Monolith Soft have released a new software update for Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition, which now sees the game on version 2.0.0.
This has primarily implemented support for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, which sees the game now playable with up to 4K resolution at a smooth frame rate of up to 60 frames per second when playing in TV mode, and up to 1080p and up to 60 frames per second in handheld mode.
We heaped praise on Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition when it released for the original Nintendo Switch, concluding in our review: “Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition has delivered the second chance that Monolith Soft’s epic sci-fi RPG deserved to find a wider audience. With its deeply emotional storytelling and world-building, I still see Xenoblade Chronicles 3 as the pinnacle of what the developer has long worked to achieve but this unforgettable space opera is close behind it thanks to its astounding technical execution and thrill-inducing battle systems.”
