Nintendo has confirmed a release date for the third volume of downloadable content planned for the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass.

Out on Thursday 16th February 2023, this has seen Monolith Soft add Masha, the newest Hero and a refined Lapidarist, who can join your party in the Nintendo Switch exclusive.

It will also introduce Challenge Battles with roguelike elements, where you will have the chance to add multiple Heroes and unlock special abilities for your party in an effort to earn newly added in-game outfits for your main characters.

This week’s Nintendo Direct presentation also shared a teaser trailer for Volume 4, which will feature an original story scenario.

The developer will also introduce Challenge Battles, in which you can “test your might in consecutive battles against tough enemies” to earn accessories and special outfits.

We enjoyed our time with Monolith Soft’s latest, concluding in our review: “What Monolith Soft has achieved with Xenoblade Chronicles 3 went far beyond my already lofty expectations. The developer’s masterful approach to character development and world-building results in an unforgettable adventure that is set in a world that is just as remarkable to explore. It is the emotional storytelling that makes it an unmissable journey that’s worth undertaking, elevating the experience to not only be considered as a Game of the Year contender but an all-time classic that will be remembered for decades to come.”

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is now available at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
