Nintendo has confirmed that Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country will receive a software update to improve the game’s resolution and performance on Nintendo Switch 2.
Set 500 years before the events of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, you will guide a group of legendary warriors on a journey to uncover the tragic history that doomed a kingdom and drove a hero down a dark path.
To be pushed live on 30 July 2026, the update for Nintendo Switch 2 will let you enjoy the game at 4K resolution on compatible TVs or full HD (1080p) in handheld mode running at 60 frames per second.
This will be free to those who already own the physical version of the game for Nintendo Switch, or by purchasing the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition for those who own Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country as part of the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Expansion Pass.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 30 July 2026, with a physical version to be made available through retailers from 1 October 2026.
