Xbox One sales already close to surpassing Wii U in the UK

In rather startling news, the Xbox One will soon surpass Wii U hardware sales across the United Kingdom despite having only launched last week.

MCV reports that a source has placed the first 48 hours sales of Microsoft’s console at around 150,000 units, which is “now just a few thousand units” away from those achieved by the Wii U in the past year.

It will be worrying for Nintendo, who have so far struggled to gain steady sales momentum behind their console, now looking to the critically acclaimed Super Mario 3D World and an assortment of various bundles to turn their fortunes around in the run up to Christmas.
