THQ Nordic and Bugbear Entertainment have shared a new gameplay trailer for Wreckfest on Nintendo Switch.

The demolition derby-themed racing game promises “spectacular vehicle destruction, demolished car parts and a truckload of fun,” delivering epic crashes, next-to-neck fights to cross the finish line and new ways to make metal bend thanks to its true-to-life physics simulation.

It comes to the portable home console with an up-to-16-player online multiplayer mode and a “constant” 30 frames-per-second. Promised to be “jam-packed with upgrade and customisation options,” you will be able to kit out your car with reinforced bumpers, roll cages, side protectors and more.

That includes two season packages, with the Season 1 package (£11.99 / $14.99) adding 20 crazy and iconic vehicles, 20 insane roof decorations and a car customization pack with new armour, rims and more whereas the Season 2 package (£9.99 / $12.99) grants you access to 12 additional cars.

The publisher has broken down the game’s features below:

  • Awesome Cars: Old, banged-up, patched-together cars that simply ooze style! From old American heavy-hitters to agile Europeans and fun Asians, you won’t find anything like this in other games.
  • Meaningful Customization: Change not only the look of your cars but also upgrade their body armour.
  • Receive free updates that add new tracks and tournament challenges with unique rewards (please note: tournaments will be a free upgrade, available post-launch).
  • Multiplayer: Wreck your friends online and take racing to the limit while chasing for demolition dominance!

Wreckfest will release at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 21st June 2022.
