Rain Games has announced that it won’t be long until you can set out on an adventure in World to the West on Wii U.

This standalone follow-up to Teslagrad will see players explore a world with blue skies and dark caves as they unveil the mysteries that surround an ancient prophecy.

The 3D action-adventure takes inspiration from light-hearted RPGs, rallying four characters that you will join in their quest. Those are Lumina the Teslamancer, Knaus the underdog, Miss Teri the treasure hunter and the moustachioed strongman Lord Clonington, for which the developer has looked to characterise with their own storyline and abilities.

“It has been great to be able to finally use words in our storytelling. In our previous game, fan favourite Teslagrad, we told the entire narrative through the visuals of the game world and the direct actions of characters,” Rain Games CEO Peter Meldahl explained, discussing the game’s links with Teslagrad.

“Voiceless storytelling suited that title really well, but it did leave a lot unsaid. We are still not fans of big exposition dumps, but now the names and history of characters, monsters and other things can be picked up intuitively through the dialogue in the game.”

World to the West will release on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U on May 5th, priced at $24.99 (€24.99).
