Software sales for the Wii U are trailing behind those achieved for Nintendo’s previous consoles, Cowen & Company analyst Doug Creutz notes.
“Software sales for the Wii U remained well behind launch levels for the original Wii and GameCube in December,” Creutz commented, in response to the latest NPD Group sales figures for December. “Totals for the November-December period were -43% lower than software sales for the Wii and -50% lower than those for the GameCube.”
With news that the Wii U is outpacing revenue generated within the same period by Wii, Nintendo’s share price climbed 5.6 per cent.
