Wii U sales across US see 20 percent increase in early 2015

It may not be able to match the blazing performance behind Sony’s PlayStation 4, but Nintendo of America are continuing to see increased interest behind Wii U.

Not wishing to share specific hardware sales figures, March’s NPD results reveal that the console has celebrated more than a 20 percent increase in sales in the United States over the first three months of the year in comparison to 2014.

Mario Party 10, which launched on March 20th, has also seen strong early sales in shifting nearly 290,000 copies in the fortnight following release. Whereas Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Mario Kart 8‘s lifetime sales have reached 1.6 million and 1.9 million respectively.
