Nintendo has confirmed that there is no music on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 that will accompany your browsing experience.
Despite the fan-favourite Wii Shop Channel main theme‘s forever-viral status and the ever-changing music in the background of the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS,
“Unlike back then, the [Nintendo] eShop now has lots of videos that are showcasing the games. We didn’t want to intrude on that, so we don’t have music there,” Nintendo Switch 2 producer Kouichi Kawamoto explained to Polygon, despite admitting that the Wii Shopping Channel music still gets stuck in his head.
Nintendo has looked to deliver improvements to your experience with the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch 2, adding: “I wanted to make sure that it was a smooth experience. That the scrolling of the list doesn’t stall, that it’s very smooth, pages load fast.”
Nintendo Switch 2 will be released at retailers worldwide on 5 June 2025.
