This week, Nintendo revealed that players would have the chance to construct the Chamber Dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

Your progression in Link’s next adventure will reward you with Chambers – which are essentially dungeon rooms – that can be freely arranged to create this new dungeon.

“As you progress through the game, you’re going to encounter dungeons, and when you clear these dungeons, the rooms inside the dungeons become puzzle pieces or panels you can rearrange,” The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma explained to Game Informer.

“As you progress through the game and clear many dungeons, you’ll be able to have a variety of panels to choose from. By arranging an entrance and a boss or goal, you can arrange a real dungeon to play through.”

We also learned that you need to talk to Dampé in order to access this new addition, the gravekeeper that we first had the chance to meet in the Nintendo 64 classic, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

When asked as to why Dampé was chosen, Aonuma added: “We understand that just creating a dungeon from nothing is very hard to do.

“That’s why we introduced the character Dampé to be the keeper of the dungeons. He will give you challenges to complete by creating a dungeon with the challenges he gives you.”

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide on September 20th.
