imaginarylab has confirmed a release window for its point-and-click adventure Whirlight: No Time To Trip on Nintendo Switch.
Pitched as “a laugh-out-loud, time-travelling, point-and-click adventure that blends traditional genre staples with an eclectic mix of gameplay styles,” the developer has looked to pay homage to genre classics such as Sam & Max, Day of the Tentacle and Monkey Island.
Starting in the sixties, after a dream spurs eccentric yet genius inventor Hector to assemble a device made from components scattered across Venice Bay, he is hurled forward in time to the nineties.
Meeting a determined artist called Margaret, the pair set out on a quest through space and time to save the planet from global catastrophe.
The developer has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Unique Visual Style: An irresistible cartoon aesthetic that will take you into a world of vivid colour and imaginative design
- Time Travel: Explore different eras, each characterised by different scenarios, missions, and people
- Creative Puzzles: Challenge your wit with riddles and puzzles that require creativity and logic
- Compelling Plot: An engaging tale full of twists and humour that will keep you glued to the screen
- Memorable Characters: Meet a cast of extraordinary characters, each with a unique story to tell
- Over 100 explorable locations: From prehistory to the distant future, each scenario offers fascinating secrets to discover
- Original Soundtrack: Immerse yourself in the adventure with an original soundtrack that captures the essence of each era and setting
Whirlight: No Time To Trip will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in Q3 2026.
