If you’re still pondering to yourself “what’s amiibo?”, then you may not be entirely familiar with Nintendo’s intention to launch their own foray into the toys-to-life category.

Aware that there may be many of you out there who are still puzzled as to their purpose, the company have shared a new video that details how they can be used in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Simply tapping your toy to the Wii U GamePad will beam it directly into the game, where you can train your chosen character up and unlock special items.

They will soon be compatible with Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Hyrule Warriors, Mario Kart 8, Mario Party 10 and Yoshi’s Woolly World, although their functionality will differ between games.

amiibo will launch in North America on November 21st, arriving in Europe a week later on November 28th.
