Weekly Famitsu has published their Team Sonic Racing review within the Japanese gaming magazine’s illustrious pages this week, delivering the first verdict on the upcoming kart racer.

That has seen their Cross Review, a panel that is comprised of four reviewers that each provides their own individual score, award the game with 34 out of a maximum possible score of 40 – which, broken down, saw it receive two 9 and two 8 scores.

The other Nintendo Switch games that they reviewed were BoxBoy! + BoxGirl! (31 out of 40), Katana ZERO (35 out of 40), Panty Party (26 out of 40), Shiritsu Verbara Gakuen: Versailles no Bara Reimagination (32 out of 40), and The Way Remastered (30 out of 40).

In Team Sonic Racing, you must race as a team to win, using team moves to help out your teammates, knock out opponents and to have the chance to unleash your Team Ultimate.

With online multiplayer and local co-op modes, as many as 12 players can compete in Team Sonic Racing with up to four in split-screen – with online and offline modes to include Grand Prix Mode, Exhibition Mode, Time-Trial and Team Adventure Mode.

Team Sonic Racing will release at retail and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on May 21st.
