Dotemu and Old Skull Games have shared a gameplay reveal trailer for Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster, which is in development for Nintendo Switch 2.
Pitched as “a new self-contained, single-player 2D action platformer, you will set out “on a dark tale of treachery as the hooded Ratman Vihneek, an ambitious killer devoted to ascending to the top of his shadowy Eshin clan at all costs.”
Vihneek’s sinister masters demand unwavering loyalty, but a Skaven’s ambition knows no limits, even when scheming on the precipice of doom. Vihneek’s story is anchored in the rich lore of the Age of Sigmar, where the Skaven have erupted to seize the Mortal Realms for themselves.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Escape: Descend into the fractured depths of the Gnaw and the paranoid underworld of the Skaven. Navigate shifting tunnels, hostile clans, and environments shaped by corruption and warpstone instability. Each clan territory brings its own rules, threats, and behavioural patterns. Learn. Observe. Exploit openings. Kill unseen, or die unnoticed.
- Kill: Feel the precision, speed, and deadly efficiency of an Eshin assassin with simple, intuitive controls inspired by masters of the 2D stealth-action platform genre. Use heightened senses and devious strategies based on the Skaven’s unique nature to eliminate your prey.
- Ascend: Stand out from the swarm and rise through the ranks by honing your skills and upgrading your gear. Gather precious warpstone to unlock deadly abilities and secret tools that unveil new, unpredictable ways to hunt your prey. - Become a Deathmaster: Complete deadly contracts on behalf of your Eshin Clan to climb the hierarchy.
