Vampire Waluigi makes a return in Mario Kart World. Playfully named Wampire in-game, Luigi’s arch-rival was first seen wearing the best outfit to have ever graced the racing series in Mario Kart Tour.
Outside Xtra unlocked the outfit when they went hands-on with the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, and were as excited as we are to see it make an appearance in the game.
If you make a pit stop at a Yoshi’s drive-thru, you can pick up a Dash Food item that will sometimes also unlock outfits that you can choose to wear from the character selection screen.
The recent Mario Kart World Direct had shared a broader look at the racer, which, for the first time, is set across a vast interconnected environment. So far, 50 playable characters have been revealed, which include returning favourites and new additions to the series’ ever-evolving roster.
Mario Kart World will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 5 June 2025.
