SEGA has announced that the original Valkyria Chronicles will receive a western release on Nintendo Switch, news that was shared at their PAX West 2018 panel – “A SEGA Perspective: Bringing Japanese Games To The West.”

It is 1935 E.C. and the Autocratic East Europan Imperial Alliance (or, the Empire for short) and the Atlantic Federation have plunged the continent of Europe into the Second Europan War over the precious resource, Ragnite.

With the Empire sweeping their way across the continent, they have set their sights on the rich Ragnite deposits in the Principality of Gallia.

But, while the otherwise peaceful Gallia remains neutral in the conflict, the Empire’s greed means that its citizens will need to defend home and country against the coming invasion.

You follow Lieutenant Welkin Gunther and the vaunted Squad 7 of the Gallian Militia as they take on the seemingly insurmountable forces of the Empire.

Valkyria Chronicles will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on October 16th priced at $19.99, with those that buy Valkyria Chronicles 4 to receive a 25 percent discount.
