SEGA has announced that the original Valkyria Chronicles will release on Nintendo Switch, news that was shared at SEGA FES 2018 in Akihabara, Japan this weekend.

This will have all previously released downloadable content that, as with Valkyria Chronicles Remastered on PlayStation 4, includes the Hard EX Mode, Edy’s Mission, Selvaria’s Mission, and Challenge of the Edy Detachment.

The military-themed tactical role-playing game was praised for its story and gameplay when it first saw release on PlayStation 3, but also for the game’s watercolour-inspired art style that was made possible thanks to the Canvas graphics engine that it uses.

Those that purchase Valkyria Chronicles 4 will be able to receive a discount on Valkyria Chronicles on Nintendo Switch, reducing the price to 500 yen (£3.25).

Valkyria Chronicles will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch in Japan later this year.
