Epic Games has released Unreal Engine 4.20 which, as they say, continues to deliver on their “promises to give developers the scalable tools they need to succeed.”

This has “significantly improved Nintendo Switch development,” in that the release includes “tons” of performances and memory improvements that were built for Fortnite – now having been made available to Unreal Engine developers.

These include support for dynamic resolution and temporal upsampling, low latency frame syncing for controller input, significant CPU rendering optimisations, improvements to threading, better texture compression, support for memory profiling, backbuffer support for 1080p while in docked mode, and more fixes beyond this.
