Nintendo has released a new software update for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, introducing a new Side Quest that will let you unlock crossover content with Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
The Side Quest, which is aptly called [Xenoblade Chronicles 2], will require that you reach three locations at night and look for three red shooting stars – with each leading you to a treasure chest that will reward you with the Salvager Headwear, Salvager Vest, and Salvager Trousers.
These are all described as “essential gear used by a boy who seeks sunken treasure in the Cloud Sea. It’s a rather rare find.” Each has a Swim Speed Up bonus, but, when worn as a set, you get Swim Dash Stamina Up.
The hint that you are given to find the three locations is: “The southern sky from the middle of the largest bridge. The eastern sky from the skull’s left eye. The southeastern sky from the peak of the tall, pierced snowy mountain.”
The southern sky from the middle of the largest bridge
This hint refers to the Bridge of Hylia that has been built across Hylia Lake. The best warp point is the Lake Tower to the south, and, from there, run to the bridge’s centre and look south at night. You should see the red shooting star fly down to the south-east, and, after chasing it, you will receive the Salvager Headwear.
The eastern sky from the skull’s left eye
This was an obscure one, but the hint refers to the Skull Lake. Warp to Zuna Kai Shrine and, stood outside, look up and to the east. The red shooting star should fall, and, after gliding across and running to its location, you will receive the Salvager Vest.
The southeastern sky from the peak of the tall, pierced snowy mountain
The snow in this clue will point you to the Hebra region, and, more specifically, Hebra Peak. For those that have already braved its chilling height, warp to Goma Asaagh Shrine. From here, run around and climb to the peak, look to the south-east and the red shooting star will fall. Chase it down to receive the Salvager Trousers.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch on December 1st.
