After details emerged earlier than planned, Activision has now revealed Skylanders Imaginators. This will empower Portal Masters with the chance to unleash their creativity for the first time, with a new creation system allowing them the freedom to design their own Skylander from scratch.

That lets player change their general appearance, powers, abilities, name, catchphrase, musical theme and more. These will rely on new elementally-aligned Creation Crystals, which will let players transport their Imaginators between Portals of Power.

Skylanders Imaginators will also introduce 31 Skylanders Senseis, new heroes and reformed villains that will be aligned under 10 powerful Battle Classes such as Knight, Sorcerer, Bowslinger, and Brawler.

These will help train Imaginators, unlocking Imaginator weapons, access to special in-game areas, and bestowing Secret Techniques. Senseis can also unleash Sky-Chi, which is the ultimate Battle Class super move.

“Since we launched the very first Skylanders game, we have received countless letters and drawings from kids all over the world sharing their vision for their own Skylanders,” ” comments Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg.

“No matter how in touch with our ‘inner kids’ we might think we are as adults, nothing comes close to the endless creativity that springs from the mind of an inspired kid. We’ve turned this year’s game into the ultimate blank canvas for kids’ imaginations so they can create and play their own Skylanders.”

The Skylanders Imaginators Starter Pack is now available to pre-order, and includes Master King Pen, Golden Queen, a Creation Crystal, a Portal of Power and a copy of the game.

Skylanders Imaginators will launch on Wii U in Europe on October 14th and North America on October 16th.
