Ubisoft collaborating with Sony for Watch_Dogs film

A feature film based on Watch Dogs is in the works, with the announcement that Ubisoft Motion Pictures is to collaborate with Sony Pictures Entertainment and New Regency to help develop its execution.

Ubisoft will oversee the project with support from Hannah Minghella and Sam Dickerman at Columbia Pictures, as well as Alexandra Milchan and Andrew Calof at New Regency.

“Since both Sony and Ubisoft have movie and video game branches, this deal creates exceptional opportunities for us to merge the realms of the story-based cinematic experience with the interaction of the video game,” Ubisoft Motion Pictures CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet comments.

“In addition, Sony Pictures and New Regency have deep production expertise and are letting us maintain a strong creative voice in the film’s development. Together, we’re confident we can deliver a movie that builds upon the excitement that the game is already generating.”
