Twitch Plays Pokémon GO Wants To Be The Very Best

There can be no question that Pokémon GO has become a social phenomenon, and now, as Twitch Plays Pokémon once captivated the world, a crowdsourced attempt is underway to catch ’em all.

Twitch Plays Pokémon GO started in New York City’s Central Park, and has since asked players to issue commands in the chat channel to help coordinate what happens next. But, while the game is running on an iPhone with simulated touch events controlling the screen, the location is “spoofed” with the max movement speed capped to keep it as realistic as possible.

With the channel averaging around 1,000 concurrent viewers, progress has been somewhat steady if not overwhelmingly successful. The Pokédex is growing, if not at a particularly spectacular rate!
