Thalamus Digital and Triple Eh? have announced that Cecconoid will release on Nintendo Switch this month.
Pitched as “the ultimate homage to arcade twin-stick shooters,” Cecconoid is an 8-bit inspired, flick-screen twin-stick-shooter set in an alternate dimension “where the pixels are still chunky and the bad guys are black and white.”
You are the only hope. After the starship Equinox falls under attack from Stormlord and the Exolons, you hop into your Samurai-1 fighter and set out to recover Captain Solomon’s Key, clear the decks of evil robotic minions and save the starship from destruction.
The game also includes the full arcade game Eugatron, which offers 50 levels of twin-stick arena-based shooting plucked direct from the 80s and remixed.
Cecconoid will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 17th August 2020.
