Herrero Games has announced that Mercury Race will release on Nintendo Switch this week, challenging you to drive and shoot your way around circuits in a retro-futuristic world.

You must finish each circuit in time to obtain the badge and become ranked number one in Arcade mode. But, not only will your driving skills be put to the test, but you will also have to shoot enemies that you cross paths with.

The more enemies that you destroy, the more crystals you will receive. These will increase your ship’s speed, with there being eight in the game that each has their own features and attributes.

Away from the Arcade mode, you can compete in a sequence of five circuits in King of the Galaxy mode, or race against a friend in split-screen local multiplayer.

Mercury Race will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on February 7th, priced at £7.99.
