inkle has revealed that 80 Days will release on Nintendo Switch, an award-winning game that “mixes old-school text adventures with strategic board games and RPGs to create a vast and infinitely replayable interactive story.”

Created with a steampunk twist, it’s set in 1872 when Phileas Fogg had wagered that he could circumnavigate the world in just 80 days.

You play as French valet Passepartout and must use strategy and cunning to help Fogg win his hefty bet before the clock runs out.

That will see you choose your own route around a 3D globe, journeying by airship, submarine, mechanical camel, steam-train, and more, in your race against the clock.

Every city and journey is narrated with an interactive story for which you control every action, with your choices speeding you up or leading you to disaster.

The Nintendo Switch port has been “fully optimized” for the portable home console, seeing the user interface redesigned or reconsidered for play with either the Joy-Con or touch screen.

The game’s text can be resized when you switch between handheld and docked modes, and it includes all content that has been added since the original release.

That will let you discover the lost city of Atlantis, join a North Pole expedition, go over Niagara Falls, team up with notorious jewel thief the Black Rose, and even journey to the moon.

80 Days will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on October 1st.
