More Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark details emerge

The weekend brought news that Activision were to release Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark later in the year, although little had been shared about the game.

That’s now changed, with the publisher revealing that it will be “a video game complement” to upcoming film Transformers: Age of Extinction releasing in June. The third-person action adventure will place players in control of more than 40 playable characters across Autobots and Decepticons, who will battle to secure the Dark Spark – an ancient relic that is believed to be as powerful as the Matrix of Leadership.

Wave-based multiplayer survival mode Escalation will return, complete with new, upgradeable defence systems, an expanded character roster, and adversaries from Transformers lore. Players will also level across single-player and multiplayer through a unified system, gained experience unlocking weapons, special abilities and consumable bonuses.
