Bandai Namco Entertainment, Hasbro and Outright Games have announced that Transformers: Battlegrounds is now available on Nintendo Switch.

UK developer Coatsink is behind this single-player and multiplayer action game “for kids and fans of all ages,” which has once again looked to bring the timeless war between the Autobots and Decepticons to life.

With Megatron closing in on the Allspark, Bumblebee and the Autobots need a new commander to help them save Earth and battle it out in locations such as Central City and Cybertron.

“We are incredibly honoured to have the opportunity to work with Hasbro and create a new take on this iconic franchise,” enthuses Outright Games CEO Terry Malham. “We have grown up with the Transformers Universe and are excited to be involved with the publication of this game.”

Hasbro senior vice president of corporate strategy and business affairs Mark Blecher adds: “The Transformers franchise has spanned many different forms of entertainment over the years and we’re always excited by a new video game featuring everyone’s favourite bots.

“It’s an incredibly exciting time for the video game industry and we couldn’t be more pleased to launch this new title for fans of all ages to enjoy.”

Transformers: Battlegrounds is now available at retail and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
