Hasbro and Outright Games have revealed that Transformers: Battlegrounds will release on Nintendo Switch this October.

UK developer Coatsink is behind this single-player and multiplayer action game “for kids and fans of all ages,” which has once again looked to bring the timeless war between the Autobots and Decepticons to life.

With Megatron closing in on the Allspark, Bumblebee and the Autobots need a new commander to help them save Earth and battle it out in locations such as Central City and Cybertron.

“The Transformers franchise is one of the most enduring and recognizable in the world of entertainment,” explains Outright Games CEO Terry Malham. “It’s an honour to work with this beloved universe and these iconic characters to create a new and exciting Transformers console game that families can enjoy together.”

Hasbro senior vice president of corporate strategy and business affairs Mark Blecher adds: “Transformers: Battlegrounds is a new and authentic take on what a Transformers video game can be. It’s exciting for us to bring the epic story of the battle between the Autobots and Decepticons to life for a new generation of fans on console.”

Transformers: Battlegrounds will release at retail and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 23rd October 2020.
