Nacon has confirmed that Train Life: A Railway Simulator will release on Nintendo Switch, in which you will have the chance to be both the train driver and the company manager.
You will be challenged to negotiate the most advantageous contracts that you can and drive passengers and goods through 10 countries across Europe – exploring the countryside, towns, forests and mountains – while managing your business to make sure that it can grow.
Each locomotive has its own characteristics – such as power, braking speed and more – which you will need to learn in order to control them expertly while keeping an eye out for railway signs and adapting to the changing weather conditions.
Whereas operating a successful company will require that you buy and maintain your trains, hire conductors and manage their contracts, explore new routes and optimise your passenger and freight activities.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features as below:
- Drive faithfully reproduced iconic trains, such as the ICE 3, ICE 4 and NEWAG Griffin
- Create and customize your own trains, from their outer appearance to your cab interior
- Manage your company: hire conductors, choose contracts, build your network, maintain your locomotives to prevent breakdowns and emergency repairs
- Travel 10,000 kilometres of track through the towns and countrysides of Eastern Europe, Western Europe and the Alps region
- Visit a wide range of true-to-life stations, such as Berlin Central Station and Zurich Main Station
- Follow the railway signage while adapting to the switches and managing speed, track changes, braking distances, station arrivals, and the opening and closing of doors
- Handle unexpected situations, such as a tree on the line, snow build-up on the tracks, or another train on your track
- Adapt your driving to the weather conditions and the time of day to prevent accidents, day and night, through downpours and blizzards!
Train Life: A Railway Simulator will release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One worldwide on 22nd September 2022, and will launch at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide “at a later date.”
