Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 next month.
These three remakes have looked to “faithfully preserve the essence of the original games,” while using the RE Engine to reimagine them “with fresh ideas and modernised gameplay.”
The publisher has outlined the three games:
- Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition: An unprecedented biological disaster that strikes Raccoon City drags rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, a college student who has come to town to visit her brother, into a tragedy unlike any they’ve ever faced.
- Resident Evil 3: Raccoon City lies in ruins following the aforementioned unprecedented biological disaster. Told from the perspective of Jill Valentine, a survivor of the special forces unit S.T.A.R.S., this is the story of the beginning and end of the Raccoon City Incident.
- Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition: Six years after the Raccoon City Incident, Leon S. Kennedy – now an agent – embarks on a harrowing mission to locate and rescue the president’s daughter. Can he survive the madness of the villagers, who have been transformed into monstrous cultists?
Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 16 October 2026, with physical releases to follow on 29 January 2027.
