Having already long been a concern for many, Nintendo Switch owners are reporting that third-party Docks are bricking their portable home console.
While more reports have surfaced on Reddit since system update 5.0.0 became available, it has been a problem that was identified long before that.
Nintendo has now acknowledged it though, but, as can be expected, they advise that you only use licensed products, as the third-party Docks don’t have to go through the company’s evaluation process.
“Unlicensed products and accessories do not undergo Nintendo’s testing and evaluation process,” Nintendo of America explained to Kotaku in a statement.
“They might not work at all with our game systems, and they could have compatibility problems with certain games, the Nintendo Switch system itself, and other licensed accessories and peripherals.”
