It had been reported in March that Nintendo UK were reviewing their media planning and buying account, at which point agencies were invited to pitch their ideas.
They had previously worked with MEC, who are recognised as one of the world’s leading media agency networks, but who had declined to re-pitch for the account. That opened it up to other agencies to offer their services, with Campaign now reporting that the7stars came out on top.
Positioning themselves as “the UK’s most successful and largest independent media agency,” the7stars work with clients such as Clash of Clans, Gumtree, HMV, Iceland, Jessops, trainline and Warner Music Group. That hard work has resulted in being named Media Agency of the Year 2016 by Media Week, with Nielsen ranking the7stars as the 12th biggest media agency in the UK.
The agency will start to work on the account immediately, which will firstly see them plan Nintendo’s summer activity which will revolve around Yo-kai Watch.
They win the account in a transitional year for Nintendo, which sees the company work plan toward Nintendo NX launching globally in March 2017.
