The Pokémon Company International and Game Freak have revealed the Y-Comm in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.

This new feature in the upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusives is used to send and receive notifications about participating in Max Raid Battles, as well as the place where you can trade Pokémon or have Link Battles – whether online or using local communication.

The Max Raid Battles will see four players join forces to take on wild Dynamax Pokémon in the Wild Area. You can encounter different species of Dynamax Pokémon when you investigate Pokémon Dens.

In battle, there’s a chance that wild Dynamax Pokémon could use multiple moves in one turn, neutralize the challenging Pokémon’s Abilities, remove all stat changes that have been put in place, or even create a mysterious barrier that prevents almost all damage.

You will need to work together to break these barriers down by repeatedly attacking them, and, even when a player’s Pokémon is knocked out in a Max Raid Battle, you can still help the other players by cheering them on.

If you win a Max Raid Battle, all players that participated will be able to catch the defeated Dynamax Pokémon and receive useful items as a reward.

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide on November 15th.
