PlatinumGames has that the physical release for The Wonderful 101 Remastered on Nintendo Switch has been delayed in Europe and North America.

Those that backed the remaster’s Kickstarter campaign at a tier to receive the digital version can expect their codes to start arriving from 7th May 2020. However, the developer has explained that “due to the number of codes it may take some time for all backers to receive them.”

“Unfortunately, due to the effects of the COVID-19 epidemic, we’re expecting delays in preparing the US and EU physical versions,” PlatinumGames explained in an update.

“Backer rewards are being given the highest priority, but due to distribution issues, backers who have chosen physical versions of the game may receive it after general retail release. Our current estimate for the start of shipping rewards is late June. We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.

“We know this is incredibly frustrating, and as a token of our apology for this, we will be providing all physical version backers with a Steam download code for The Wonderful 101: Remastered, so that they can play the game at the same time as backers who purchased the digital version.”

That means that the retail release has been delayed in North America to 30th June 2020, and to 3rd July 2020 across Europe.

The Wonderful 101: Remastered will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch in North America on 19th May 2020, in Europe on 22nd May 2020 and across Japan on 11th June 2020.
