Frogwares has released a gameplay reveal trailer for The Sinking City on Nintendo Switch, which the developer adds is more than a straight port.

“We did our best to optimize the game and ensure it runs at a stable 30 frames throughout. We also improved combat a bit to have more weight and feel,” explains game producer Serge Chervonnyi.

“Weapons now have new gunshot sounds, improved recoil, and new visual effects. We also did our best to improve the game from people’s feedback. So things like crowd behavior and pedestrian AI has been tweaked along with all-around additional levels of polishing and bug fixing.”

This game of investigation and mystery takes place in a supernatural world inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, in which you play as a 1920s private detective who finds himself in the half-submerged city of Oakmont, Massachusetts.

The city has suffered from unprecedented floods of clearly supernatural origins, while incomprehensible monsters have started to stalk its streets.

It’s up to you to explore the city on foot, boat, or in a diving suit, as you look to uncover the truth behind what has possessed the city.

The Sinking City will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in Fall 2019.
