The Pokémon Company made a staggering $3.3 billion in retail revenue worldwide last year, a reflection of the overwhelming success that the brand’s 20th-anniversary celebrations were met with.

That whopping number was reported in License Global, which identified Pokémon GO, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon and increased interest in the Pokémon Trading Card Game as being key contributors to such an impressive performance.

To help put it into perspective, The Pokémon Company made $2.1 billion in 2015. That means that they were able to earn an additional $1.2 billion in retail sales from licensed products around the world.

That won’t come as a particular surprise given that Pokémon GO has been downloaded more than 650 million times and Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon became the third best-selling Nintendo 3DS games having sold more than 14.69 million copies worldwide.
