The Pokémon Company has today issued a warning to scammers that it will take action against individuals that seek to sell counterfeited goods based upon its celebrated franchise.
Yesterday it emerged that a broken version of Pokémon Yellow had been added to the iTunes App Store, soon rising to top the Paid App charts.
“We continue to combat the unauthorised release of games, applications and merchandise that trick our fans into purchasing something that does not meet our quality standards”, The Pokémon Company stated to Develop in response to this.
“Fans who encounter questionable products should report to us immediately so we can keep other fans from falling victim to these scams”.
Customers were quick to report that the Pokémon Yellow version available on the store was broken, yet it is questioned as to how it managed to slip past Apple’s approval system for the service. It has since been removed.
