Private Division and Obsidian Entertainment have released the first screenshots that show The Outer Worlds running on Nintendo Switch.

Now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, Virtuos Games has handled the port to the portable home console.

The Outer Worlds will be made available as a boxed version at retail that contains a physical cartridge, although there will be a day-one update that “could be up to 6GB.”

This “will optimise gameplay, provide additional hi-res textures, and include other fixes to provide the employees of Halcyon with the best gameplay experience.”

Lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the furthest edge of the galaxy, in this single-player sci-fi RPG you awake decades later only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the Halcyon colony.

As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.

The Outer Worlds will release for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 5th June 2020 priced at £49.99 ($59.99).
