Nintendo has announced that the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition will return next summer with new shipments worldwide.

The miniaturised replica went on to sell more than 1.5 million units worldwide despite overwhelming consumer demand – although Nintendo had admitted that it “wasn’t intended to be an ongoing, long-term product.”

The NES Classic Edition has 30 classic NES games, such as the original Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Donkey Kong.

Nintendo will share more information about the timing for when the NES Classic Edition will return in the future.
