The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword trailer hides a familiar tune…

Oh Nintendo, you do like to hide surprises at times…

Today, the little Legend of Zelda fanboy inside me has had its mind completely blown by a more musically orientated Nintendo Easter Egg.

During his keynote presentation for the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2011, Nintendo President and CEO Satoru Iwata treated the audience to the latest trailer for hotly anticipated Wii title, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Whilst, unsurprisingly, most occupied their time by soaking up the fresh new gameplay demonstrated within the trailer, one fan, purely by chance, has managed to unearth something hidden away. Having recorded the audio that accompanied the trailer onto his iPhone Touch, he then used an App to reverse it reveals an all too familiar tune…

At this point, it’s best that you hear it yourself. This is the trailer’s soundtrack in reverse:

That’s right, hidden away within the last Skyward Sword trailer was Zelda’s infamous theme music, featured in entirely retrograde form by Nintendo. A trivial surprise, but one worth sharing nonetheless!
