During a Nintendo Roundtable discussion held at E3 2011, currently still underway in Los Angeles, Shigeru Miyamoto has claimed that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be the last game he will work on for Wii.

Miyamoto explained that he always “focuses on newest upcoming platforms,” and that Skyward Sword would be “one of the last, if not the last” from his development team.

Whilst Miyamoto was keen to affirm that there are still games for the Wii from Nintendo, producer of The Legend of Zelda series Eiji Aonuma then added that he hoped that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword would be “good enough to close out the Wii.”
