The New Nintendo 3DS XL, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate spurred the company’s fortunes throughout February, allowing Nintendo of America to claim the Nintendo 3DS family as being the strongest selling hardware platform last month.

It sold nearly 395,000 units across the United States with the majority attributed to the New Nintendo 3DS XL, which, in comparison, drew 130 percent more sales than when the Nintendo 3DS XL launched. Throughout 2015 so far, 3DS hardware sales have increased by more than 90 percent and Wii U by 20 percent in comparison to the same period last year.

It was The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D that reigned victorious atop the software chart, selling 515,000 copies across physical and digital to beat out competition from Take 2’s Evolve, Warner Bros. Interactive’s Dying Light and Sony’s The Order: 1886.

Capcom can similarly be pleased with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate’s performance, with more than 290,000 copies sold physically and digitally. That not only made it the fastest-selling Monster Hunter title in the US to have ever graced the series, but it has also become Capcom’s fastest-selling release for the 3DS in the country.

Whereas Super Smash Bros. for Wii U sales have surpassed 1.5 million units, with amiibo having now sold over 3.5 million figures in the country alone.
