The Great Fairy Fountains in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild were teased in the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 trailer, but we have been left to find them and discover what their benefits are.

There are four Great Fairy Fountains scattered across Hyrule’s regions, each with their own Great Fairy – Cotera, Kaysa, Mija and Tera. Once discovered, players will have to pay rupees to restore the Great Fairy’s power before they will offer their assistance in upgrading your armour by using materials that you have gathered.

Each Great Fairy Fountain that you unlock will increase the upgrade level available to you, with the necessary rupees to restore them increasing over time – requiring that the player hands over 100, 500, 1,000, and 10,000 rupees.
