The Great Fairy Fountains in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild were teased in the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 trailer, but we have been left to find them and discover what their benefits are.

There are four Great Fairy Fountains scattered across Hyrule’s regions, each with their own Great Fairy – Cotera, Kaysa, Mija and Tera. Once discovered, players will have to pay rupees to restore the Great Fairy’s power before they will offer their assistance in upgrading your armour by using materials that you have gathered.

Each Great Fairy Fountain that you unlock will increase the upgrade level available to you, with the necessary rupees to restore them increasing over time – requiring that the player hands over 100, 500, 1,000, and 10,000 rupees.

Cotera’s Great Fairy Fountain Location

This lies northeast of Kakariko Village, west of Pierre Plateau and can be discovered in the Main Quest “Find the Fairy Fountain.” This is received from Pikango in Kakriko Village, with completion requiring that you take a picture of the Great Fairy Fountain to show him.

Kaysa’s Great Fairy Fountain Location

This can be found south from the Tabantha Tower, near Piper Ridge. It can be discovered in the Side Quest “A Gift for the Great Fairy” which is received from Toren at Tabantha Bridge Stable. Toren will give the player 500 rupees and ask that you make an offering to the Great Fairy on his behalf.

Mija’s Great Fairy Fountain Location

This can be found in the Akkala Highlands, north of Kaepora Pass and south-east of Lake Akkala.

Tera’s Great Fairy Fountain Location

This can be found in Gerudo Desert’s south-west corner, situated underneath the Gerudo Great Skeleton and near the Hawa Koth Shrine.
