NIS America and Nihon Falcom have announced that The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond The Horizon will receive a localised western release on Nintendo Switch 2.
“I’m excited to announce that the latest entry in Nihon Falcom’s Trails series, The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon, will also be released on Nintendo Switch 2,” enthuses Nihon Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo.
“With the power of the Nintendo Switch 2, we expect players to have an even more enjoyable experience. In fact, this will mark the debut of the Trails series on the Nintendo Switch 2, and I personally have high expectations for it. Please continue to look forward to the release!”
As with the previous games, there is a Limited Edition that is available to pre-order from the NIS Online Store (Europe / North America). This includes an art book, SteelBook, mini soundtrack and “Grim Timekeeper” Acrylic Clock.
“Van Arkride and the members of Arkride Solutions are back, and this time the future of the entire Zemurian continent is at stake!” the publisher shares about the game’s story.
“The people of Zemuria await the launch of humanity’s first foray into space with bated breath. A sudden invitation from Marduk to cooperate in a high-tech training exercise sets Van, Ashen Chevalier Rean Schwarzer, and Father Kevin Graham on a collision course with the secrets at the very core of Zemuria.

The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:

The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond The Horizon will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide in January 2026.
