Over The Moon has announced that The Fall Part 2: Unbound will see release on Wii U early next year, continuing from where players left ARID at the end of The Fall.

The developer promises new characters, gameplay twists, superb art direction, and a more engrossing story, amounting to “a bold leap forward for the franchise.”

Continuing to merge Metroidvania-inspired exploration and combat with point-and-click adventure-style puzzles, players will control ARID, an AI installed in a futuristic combat suit.

After the events witnessed in Part 1, ARID becomes threatened when she is ejected from her body and projected in a global network. Desperate to save herself, she attempts to control several robots that she discovers that each have their own personalities and gameplay styles.

“The Fall Part 2: Unbound takes everything we learned with The Fall, adds to it and improves on it exponentially,” comments Over The Moon director John Warner. “After seeing the reception The Fall received, we knew that people were excited to see ARID’s journey of self-discovery continue.

“We want The Fall Part 2: Unbound to deliver a thought-provoking story that will linger with players long after they finish the game, with gameplay that’s as fitting with that story as it is addictive.”

The Fall Part 2: Unbound will release on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U in Q1 2017.
