TFL Studios has announced that The Eternal Castle [REMASTERED] will release on Nintendo Switch next week.

This has seen the developer remake the original 1987 DOS game Eternal Castle, which has now been modernised with updated “game mechanics, sophisticated sound design, and 2-bit CGA graphics.”

They have looked “to expand the experience while keeping the same feel and emotional flow of the original,” where, whether playing alone or in local co-op multiplayer, you must fight, shoot and sneak your way through the Ancient Ruins, Forgotten City and Unholy Lab.

There are four Gliders to retrieve to power up your ship and more than 10 different weapons and items to use, as you work to recover missing Fragments so that you can return home.

The developer has also mentioned a “Lost Tales episode of a brave Sacrifice,” as well as a player-versus-player death arena mode.

The Eternal Castle [REMASTERED] will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 15th May 2020.
