Bethesda Softworks has released a day-one update for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that adds video capture support.

That sees it become the first third-party release to support the video capture functionality since it was introduced in Nintendo Switch system update version 4.0.0, that was made available in mid-October.

When you press and briefly hold the Capture button, the last 30 seconds will be recorded and saved to your Album without interrupting your gameplay. These clips can then be trimmed in the Album as needed, and then shared on Twitter or Facebook.

We savoured the chance to return to the fantasy epic, writing in our The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim review: “Whether you are arriving by horse and cart for the first time or have already courageously saved the world from destruction, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim continues to transcend the genre with its meticulous and phenomenal world-building.

“It’s that unending freedom to be anyone that you want to be, to go anywhere and be able to do anything that makes it such an engrossing world to exist in. And now that you can take that masterful experience anywhere on Nintendo Switch, it’s the perfect chance to become the Dragonborn.”

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will release on Nintendo Switch worldwide on November 17th.
