Cygnus Entertainment has announced that Colossal Cave will release on Nintendo Switch this month.
Sierra On-Line co-founder Roberta Williams has reimagined the original text-based computer adventure game that had inspired her to start her own career as a game designer, to deliver its “ultimate 3D interpretation.”
Those seeking true adventure in a winding labyrinth of underground caves will discover unfathomable wonders, as storybook beasts materialise as living creatures that are ready to become lifelong friends or foes.
With exceptional treasures to retrieve as you explore ever-deeper into the caverns, you will need to overcome complex puzzles as you wander through their depths under constant threat from perilous dangers.
“The original Colossal Cave Adventure, a 2019 Video Game Hall of Fame recipient, will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Ken and I,” explains Cygnus Entertainment founder and lead designer Roberta Williams. “We’ve built this world with all of the love and wonder of the first game, and hope the next generation of gamers can experience the same magical touch it had on our lives.”
