With Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory nearing release, series director Tetsuya Nomura has teased that it won’t be long until we hear about the next Nintendo Switch game that he is working on.

In a recent interview with Nintendo Dream, an exchange with indieszero’s Masanobu Suzui saw Nomura suggest that it wouldn’t be long until he could talk about his next Kingdom Hearts game on Nintendo Switch.

Their interaction soon surfaced on Twitter, with thanks to BlackKite for the translation:

Suzui: There were not really many opportunities that a Kingdom Hearts title where Nomura-san got involved with gets featured in Nintendo Dream.
Nomura: I feel like we can meet again in a not-so-far future.
Nintendo Dream: That’s going to be a long wait. We’re looking forward to that!

Nomura had previously stated that there were “no specific plans” to port any Kingdom Hearts games to the portable home console, making it unclear whether he could have been referring to Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX or Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue.

Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory will release at retail and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 13th November 2020.
